KINGSPORT, TENN. – The Kingsport City Schools Board of Education will hold a called meeting on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 6 p.m. (prior to the scheduled work session) in the Tennessee Room at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, third floor, downtown Kingsport. All Board meetings are open to the public.
The purpose of the special called meeting is to consider approval of 2023-24 Budget Amendment #3, consider approval of a bid for the renovation of the Buck Van Huss Dome at Dobyns-Bennett High School, and to consider approval of an Agreement resolving claims related to restoration work at the former Sullivan North High School.
Kingsport City Schools (KCS) is a public school district located in Kingsport, Tenn., serving students in Sullivan and Hawkins county. The district is comprised of 13 schools, including a Pre-K, eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, a high school program of choice, and an alternative learning program; with a total enrollment of over 7,900 students.
