New Football Stadium Policies In Effect For 2025

Kingsport, TN — As the excitement builds for another exciting Dobyns-Bennett High School football season, school officials want to inform fans of new stadium procedures at J. Fred Johnson Stadium designed to promote safety and enhance the overall game day experience.

Starting with the 2025 season, two key policies will be in effect for all home football games:

CLEAR BAG POLICY 
To ensure a secure environment for all attendees, Dobyns-Bennett will enforce a clear bag policy at the stadium gates. Only bags that are transparent and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 9” in size will be permitted. One gallon resealable zip top bags and small clutch purses no larger than 6” x 9” will also be permitted. This measure allows for quicker entry and enhanced security screening. Fans are strongly encouraged to arrive early and avoid bringing non-compliant bags. Exceptions to the Clear Bag Policy will be made for credentialed media and those with necessary medical items after proper inspection at designated areas. If you wish to purchase a D-B clear bag, there will be some available for purchase in the D-B Activities Office (while supplies last). 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR MINORS
In an effort to maintain a family-friendly and safe environment:

  • Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult to be admitted into the stadium.
  • High school students are strongly encouraged to bring their school or state-issued ID for entry.


“These changes are part of a broader initiative to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for our students, families, and the community on Friday nights,” said Dobyns-Bennett Athletic Director Frankie DeBusk “We want our fans focused on cheering on the Tribe—not waiting in line or being turned away due to bag or admission issues.”

Dobyns-Bennett Athletics urges all fans to plan ahead, review the new guidelines, and arrive prepared. Additional signage and staff will be in place at the gates to assist with the transition (see attached).

Season football ticket sales are just around the corner! Existing season ticket holders will be able to purchase their tickets from July 28th - August 8th. Any season tickets that are not purchased during that time will go on sale to the general public, starting August 11th - 15th. All sales will be in the newly renovated Activities Office located in the Buck Van Huss Dome lobby.
